Парк, располагающийся на западном побережье острова Ньюфаундленд, предоставляет редкую возможность изучения дрейфа континентов, поскольку именно здесь выходят на поверхность породы, вынесенные некогда из мантии Земли и из океанической земной коры. Последнее оледенение сформировало здесь оригинальный рельеф – это прибрежные низины, альпийские плато, фьорды, выработанные ледником горные долины, крутые утесы, водопады и множество чистейших озер.

Last June during our 3 month tour of Canada we said goodbye to the beautiful St. John's and drove 7 hours across Newfoundland in a driving rain and fog to Deer Lake. Today we drove north, parked our car and hiked in over an hour (for some 2+ hours, check the map and make sure you have the proper hiking attire and are dressed appropriately) to catch our boat tour of the magnificent landlocked fjord. There were low hanging clouds and steady light rain. The top of the fjord mountains were sheared off by glaciers. The views were humbling to realize we are all grains of sand in the whole scheme of things. It will all be here long after we've returned to dust. The face of the Tin Man etched on a cliff. Moose tracks and wild berry bushes as far as the eye can see. Things starting to come alive. This was one of the days for the memory book. One of the world's cleanest lakes untouched by man. This has to be one of the world's most beautiful National Parks. Everyone should have this on their bucket list. Just do it! Kindly click the like button if this review or my photos are useful.
